Giacomo Grimaldi Sauvignon Blanc Langhe, Italy 2016
Kevin’s Notes: There’s something about Italian Sauvignon Blanc and I can’t put my finger on it. They can be very below average, or…they can be some of the best white wines you’ve tasted. This Sauvignon is incredible with its light almond and subtle stone fruit nose and flavors. It does NOT have the strong aggressive citrus or green pepper character of many other brethren. Its mouthfeel is broad and round with acidity. It makes you salivate and satisfied! Quite frankly, it’s an outstanding wine and at this price it’s a bargain.

Enanzo Garnacha Rosado (Rose) 2016
Wine Education: What is grape must? Wikipedia actually provides a very accurate and precise explanation.
Wikipedia: “Must (from the Latin vinum mustum, “young wine”) is freshly pressed fruit juice (usually grape juice) that contains the skins, seeds, and stems of the fruit. The solid portion of the must is called pomace and typically makes up 7–23% of the total weight of the must. Making must is the first step in winemaking.
Kevin’s Notes: Quite simply, rose is a terrific for any holiday meal when roasted fowl, ham and left-over sandwiches are on the menu. Thanksgiving is not just a meal, but an occasion that includes many dishes from different households. Garancha roses of Spain have a tendency to carry bigger, richer fruit making it a strong choice with the full flavors moving from fork to palate.

Ferraton La Matiniere Croze Hermitage Nothern Rhone Red 2015
The Wine and Kevin’s Notes: The is a blend of multiple vineyards in Crozes-Hermitage. It is 100% Syrah aged in concrete tanks. It is a perfect companion for the holiday meals that lay ahead.
Wine Critic Review: “Deep ruby. Aromas of cherry pit, black currant, peppery spices and succulent herbs, lifted by a zesty mineral quality. Juicy and focused on the palate, displaying very good depth to the smoke-accented dark berry and bitter cherry flavors. Shows good heft as well as vivacity and finishes with firm mineral cut, building tannins and lingering spiciness.” (VM)

Bodegas Eguren – Condado de Eguren 2012
One of the most genuine characteristics of the winery are its underground caves, 2 kilometers of drafts that the public can visit. These caves, whose temperature and humidity remain unchanged, are the perfect place to keep the wine in the best conditions for years after bottling.
Taste Profile: In the glass of intense garnet red, clean and shiny. High aromatic complexity of red fruits, spices and toasty wood notes. Elegant, powerfully fleshy and harmonious. Well embedded tannins, which ensure a very pleasant and persistent finish.
Kevin’s Notes: Last week, we tried the little brother of this wine. So what’s the difference? This wine see oak aging and comes from older vines on the property. Consequently, the fruit is darker and fuller on the mid-palate followed with his awesome light leather and pipe tobacco character that adore! This wine rocks with holiday meals and as a gift.
