The Tasting this Weekend is going to be fantastic! Here’s the lineup:
BloodRoot Wines, Rosé Of Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2021 – ORGANIC
BloodRoot is a secret collaboration between acclaimed winemakers. This group has deep contacts and vineyard sourcing which they knew they would create great wines for relatively modest prices. This group is also masterful at creating blends. They’re the chefs that could walk into your house tonight and make a Michelin-starred meal out of anything you have in your fridge and pantry. They want to be anonymous because they have other projects.
Taste: The newest edition of our rosé comes from three vineyards located in the Russian River and Sonoma Coast appellations. We find pretty floral notes, combined with just under-ripe flavors of strawberry and raspberry, on a bead of fresh lemon zest. There is also a compelling accent note of bay laurel and thyme.

Marc Deschamps di Cri Pouilly Fume 2019 -ORGANIC
The Domaine consists of approximately 8.5 hectares of vineyards. These wines are classic examples of the appellation: rich, powerful, marked by an undercurrent of minerality and, above all, expressing the precision, elegance and exceptional length that makes the wines of the hamlet of Les Loges the envy of all the producers of Pouilly Fumé.
Winemaker Notes for This Wine
The “Champs de Cri” is an important parcel of 2.3 hectares known in Les Loges as the site that produces the most elegant and long-lived of the wines of this appellation. Deschamps’ holdings are exclusively old vines with an average age of 55 years (as of 2012). Deschamps leaves this wine in contact with the lees for several months more than his other cuvées and it is released for sale later than the other wines of the estate. It is frequently marked by notes of bitter orange, jasmine and beeswax. Cooper’s Price $34.99 Mix & Match 3btls $31.49
Foffani Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy
About: Giovanni Foffani, now manages winery after a professional career in engineering and finance. He has been working over 20 years full-time on his property.
The estate dates back centuries with wine production documented since 1789. Giovanni Foffani, sole owner, has concentrated his activity on the cultivation of his 25 acres of vineyards
Kevin’s Notes – The high elevation of Friuli and the Refosco grape are two things which always get me excited about selling wine. There’s no real comparison for either so when you put them together – look out – you’ll think you’re in heaven.
Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red in color with a fruity nose and primary aromas of red berries, plums, and cherries, accompanied by herbaceous hints. Medium bodied, fresh, and round with light tannins. Pair with tasty cheeses, ham and salami, pizza, grilled and fatty meats, roasted beef, and fatty fish dishes.

Hess Collection Allomi Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
About: A pioneer by nature, Donald Hess was determined to defy convention and pursue winemaking in the far reaches of the Napa Valley. In 1995, he sought out the Allomi vineyard with a vision to uncover its potential. Once a dormant beauty, the Allomi vineyard now gives life to luxury napa Valley wines. Their estate vineyard is located in the gently rolling hills of northeastern Napa Valley. The 210-acre vineyard is focused into 35 unique growing blocks with six different Cabernet clones that add diversity of flavors and complexity to this wine.
Tasting Notes: This cabernet is both with rich tannins and intense complex flavors of black cherry, raspberry, blackberry, plum and a touch of spicy oak. Pairs well with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and herb-crusted poultry.
Kevin’s Notes – I’ve sold Hess wines as a wholesaler, retail employee, and retail owner since 1992 and one thing you will get from their wines is value and consistency. This is an amazing winery and property as ot sits on the slope of Mt Veeder. The wines are must buy and the winery is a must visit.
