Maison Foucher-Lebrun Chardonnay Petit Le Mont;Loir,France

Orgnically farmed, fermented stainless steel, aged 6 months on lees.

Kevin’s Notes:  Why do I love stainless steel or lightly oaked Chard?  Because they keep my palate fresh and lively.  The Petit Le Mont (Little Mountain) is a 14er in my book without the heavy price tag.  Stone fruit and apple flavors will leave you salivating for more w/o the heavy alcohol.

Vina Maitia Aupa Pipeno; Valley Maule, Chile 2016

Pipeno is an ancient traditional method of wine making in Chile which dates back to the 16th century. This is an old-school blend of 80%  Pais (aka Mission Grape), 20% Carignan.  Pipeno is a very rustic wine, and lovely on the palate

Kevin’s notes – The wine industry is FULL of surprises and this wine is a great example!  I’d never heard of the Pais grape variety; and this is a stunner.  Delicious with bright fruit of wild strawberries and dried herbs.

It’s another one of those “What is this?  I’ve never tasted anything like it AND I LOVE IT!”

Watler Scott La Combe Verte Pinot 2016

This is THE wine of the tasting.  Limited supply

16 Months ago Sharon and Kevin were introduced to Walter Scott Wines and we fell in love!  We fell in love with partners Ken Pahlow and Erica Landon’s passion, dedication to quality and, of course, the end result.  Can’t get enough of the Walter Scott wines!

Winery Notes: The 2016 vintage is layered with power and structure giving this wine immediate appeal alongside the ability to be tucked into your cellar for several years.  Layers of red cherries, plums & spicy earth fill the nose.  The fruit, tannins and acid all come together to make the wine our version of the complete package.

Finca Las Moras, Alma Mora Red Blend; San Juan, Argentina

The name originates in the blackberry trees present in the estates located in the three main valleys of San Juan, Argentina.  The fruits of these trees, the blackberries, are calle “moras” in Spanish; this is the symbol of the wines; fruit at its greatest expression.  Truly Argentinean wines.  “Wines in harmony with the earth”

Taste Profile: Medium bodied with complex aromas and flavors of blackberries, plums and spices.  60% Cab Sauv, 35% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot.  This is a BIG wine for the money.  Great with BBQ!
