March 24th & 25th Wine Tasting
Pio Cesare Langhe Arneis 2013 (Alba, Italy)
The Pio Cesare winery was founded in 1881 by Cesare Pio. He was one of the very first wine producers to believe in the great potential and quality of Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera and in the other great wines of Piemonte. Cesare Pio in the second portion of 1800s, was among the very first winemakers to produce these wines with a philosophy that was dedicated to the terroir and the strictest quality of the wine. For five generations, the Pio Cesare family has been producing traditional Piemontese wines in its ancient cellars, located in the centre of the town of Alba.
Tasting Notes: Slightly aromatic, with reach and ripe stone fruit, round, refreshing and crispy fragrance.

Herve Azo Chablis 2015 (Normandy, France)
Like many a good story, Hervé Azo’s began with love-at-first-sight. When this native Breton left his high-powered job in Paris to work the harvest in Chablis in the early 1970s, he never returned. Captivated by his new-found home, he began to slowly acquire vineyard land—at the time, only a fraction of the astronomical value that it is today. The property now encompasses 12 hectares of vineyards; nine of which are located on the premier cru slopes around the village of Milly. Every attempt has been made to remain true to the original, purist house style that the Azos spent so much time and effort .fermented and aged exclusively in stainless steel vats to retain the classic mineral qualities of Chablis.
Tasting Notes: This wine is an overachiever showing the captivating yeasty quality in the nose that true Chablis should have. It is both fleshy and full while retaining a solid mineral core and zesty acidity. This will marry well with all seafood and poultry as well as with stronger cheese such as Gruyère or Comté.
Regular Price: $21.99

Chateau Larroque 2010 Bordeaux (Right Bank, Bordeaux, France)
Marie Christine, the daughter of Henri Ducourt, purchased this prestigious left-bank property in 1979, which lies on the border of the Graves appellation. The 60-hectare vineyard was rapidly replanted and the château building, which dates from 1348, was restored. This is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Notes: The silky velvety attack presents excellent structure and flavors of dried fruit, anise, and toasted nuts.
Cooper’s Price: $16.99
Ludovicus Garnacha (Terra Alta, Spain)
This mineral, spicy Mediterranean red drinks like a wine two times its price. It is produced from organically grown grapes in the high elevation Terra Alta region. These high lands are located just 45 minutes south of Barcelona in the mountains of Tarragona overlooking the Mediterranean. Ludovicus pays tribute to the roman heritage of this region. The Romans planted vineyards in this area during the 3rd century. Terra Alta neighbors the acclaimed Priorat region. Just like in Priorat, Garnacha and Mazuelo (aka Cariñena, or Samsó) are the most commonly planted grapes. The Garnachas that grow in Terra Alta are among the finest in Spain due to three factors: the elevation, the limestone soil and the plethora of old vine that Terra Alta possesses.
