Hunky Dory Marlborough, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc 2016
comes from Huia Winery. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are sourced primarily from three vineyard sites. The Rapaura vineyard provides richly flavored Sauvignon Blanc grapes that reveal a broad expression of tropical, passionfruit and guava characteristics. From the Straw Lodge vineyard on the West Coast road where the fruit flavors are softer producing luscious lemon and lime acidity. And finally the Anderlane vineyard, that is located between the other two sites and brings the quintessential gooseberry and fine acidity of this area.
Hunky Dory Sauvignon Blanc is succulent, offering tropical fruit notes packed with fresh gooseberry and lime flavors. This wine has a full flavored lingering finish and is designed to meet expectations of a true Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Chateau de Montfaucon Cotes du Rhone 2014
The first inhabitants of Montfaucon settled on the rocky hill in the prehistoric era long before the Greeks and the Romans arrived in the region. The site is exceptional; the hill on the border of the Rhône River offers natural refuge and habitation in its caves as well as a viewpoint of the Rhône and surrounding area for enemies and predators.
The wine is a blend of typical Rhône grape varieties 50% Grenache 20% Syrah, 15% Carignan, 10% Cinsault, and 5% Counoise. It has been fermented and aged in concrete tanks only, without any influence from oak barrels. At tasting, the wine reveals beautiful red fruit aromas: cherries, blackcurrant, and raspberries with violets and spices.

The vineyard is planted to a vine density of 10,000 vines per hectare.
92 points James Suckling – Aromas of currants, plums, and minerals follow through full body, with chewy tannins and a chewy finish. Needs time to soften. Serious depth to this wine. Better in 2015. (2/2013)
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate – Dark ruby/plum colored, with evolved notes of cedar wood, earth and underbrush, this wine possesses the classic tobacco leaf and black currants of a mid-level Medoc. It is medium-bodied, has good ripeness and should age nicely for 15 or more years. (2/2013)
