Holloran Stafford Hill Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2014 – $18.99

As a grower and wine producer since 1999 in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, our handcrafted wines begin in the vineyards we own and farm. We emphasize low yields and careful hands-on management of the vines to produce wines that express the unique characteristics of our 5 vineyard sites, including our older vines planted in the early 1970’s.

Stafford Hill is the second label for Holloran Vineyards, with two thirds of the estate production being declassified by barrel selection into the Stafford Hill line. Organically farmed, the wines are treated in the same manner as the estate wines, with indigenous yeasts and aging in French oak, of which 15-20% is new.

Kevin’s Notes: Where has this Pinot Noir been all of my life? GREAT value out of Oregon that we’ll sell through the end of the year.

Bodegas Paniza Crianza from Carinena, Spain2011 – $13.99

The town from which it takes its name has also been adopted by the Carinena grape variety (known as Carignan in other parts of the world), which once dominated the local vineyards.

Bright, toasty aromas, floral incense, nougat, and Asian spices with a soft, vibrant, fruity medium-full body and a warming, interesting, relaxed spicy tart cherry compote, vanilla nuts, cedar, and earth finish with fine, chewy tannins and moderate oak. A bright, fruity Spanish red blend that is sure to please.
