Wine Tasting – Strawberry Days Weekend
Take a break from the festivities and taste these specially selected wines.
Domaine de Pouy Gasgogne Blanc
This wine comes from Gascogne in Southwest France two hours southwest of Bordeaux. It’s absolutely delicious and if you’re tired of Pinot Grigio this is a great alternative. The wine is crisp, deliciously fruity, uncomplicated. This lively white is light to medium-bodied, boasting gobs of fragrant fruit, made from grapes vinified at low temperatures and bottled early to preserve the wine’s freshness. It’s a fun to simply open for your friends without telling them what it is, while watching their eyes sparkle with delight! Big plus, its low in alcohol compared to many whites so you don’t have to worry about your friends getting a droopy right eye after two glasses.
TASTING NOTES: This is smooth and fresh, its yellow apple flavors edged with grape skin spice. A great party bottle.

Domaine de la Petite Cassagne Costières de Nîmes Rose
Diane de Puymorin is the dynamic young owner of this super property, which she purchased in 1998. Diane’s goal is to craft unique wines within the Costières de Nîmes appellation. She uses only organic farming methods and believes in strictly limiting yields. Unique pruning and leaf pulling techniques help her to optimize the maturity of fruit in her vineyards, and allow her to harvest before the autumnal weather changes. Diane has also been expanding by planting new vines each year, and she now has 5 acres of white varietals in production.
Domaine de la Petite Cassagne Rosé is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Super fresh and bright, this summer sipper displays deep flavors of strawberries, minerals and sweet herb

Vajra Dolcetto d’Alba
This last March, I and two of my staff traveled to Denver to taste over 200 wines from Piedmont, Italy. Why? Because in order to find the some of the best wines in world, you have to go to where the wine is. Samplings of these wines were not going to make their way to Glenwood.
From these samplings, this is one of five stunning wines we selected to buy for our store to share with our customers. This is one of the best Dolcetto’s I have ever tasted. I love Dolcetto in the summer for its vibrancy and freshness of violets and brilliant red fruit. It is great on its own or with any light to medium weight dish. Availability is limited, when I’m out, I am out. FYI, This is the sixth most sought-after wine from the region (in terms of user searches).

Force of Nature Red
wines whole retiring others to the “been there, done that”. However, this philosophy can only work as long as I have replacements for certain categories, as well as, not upsetting our customers. Well, we’ve been carrying this for two years for both of the reasons mentioned previously. We’re tasting this wine because it’s a new vintage and it’s been 18 months since the last time we tried it. The wine is a blend of; 67% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Sirah and 11% Syrah.
Winemaker’s Notes: A gorgeous nose with sweet blackberry, cherry liqueur, and inner perfumed layers of violets, licorice, vanilla and red plum. Elegant and balanced on the
