Wine Tasting May 27-28 Memorial Day weekend

BloodRoot Wines, Rosé Of Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2021

BloodRoot is a secret collaboration between acclaimed winemakers. This group has deep contacts and vineyard sourcing which they knew they would create great wines for relatively modest prices. This group is also masterful at creating blends. They’re the chefs that could walk into your house tonight and make a Michelin-starred meal out of anything you have in your fridge and pantry. They want to be anonymous because they have other projects.

Taste:  The newest edition of our rosé comes from three vineyards located in the Russian River and Sonoma Coast appellations.  We find pretty floral notes, combined with just under-ripe flavors of strawberry and raspberry, on a bead of fresh lemon zest. There is also a compelling accent note of bay laurel and thyme.  Cooper’s Price $21.99  Mix & Match 3 btls $19.79

Le Jade Chardonnay Les Costieres de Pomerols, France 2021

The wine comes from south-facing vineyards planted on clay and limestone hills overlooking the Etang de Thau, a coastal lagoon situated between the port of Sète and Cap d’Agde.

Winemaking – Slow, temperature-controlled fermentation (16 degrees C). Stirring of lees with inert gas. No malolactic fermentation. No barrel aging. Some of the wine was in contact with oak chips.

Taste Le Jade Chardonnay offers a wonderful yellow color, a complex nose of white flowers, and vanilla. Medium-intense notes of golden apple skin, lime peel and wild yellow flowers are graced by a hint of gingery spice.  Cooper’s Price $12.99

Mix & Match 3 btls $11.69

Yamhill Valley Vineyards, Pinot Noir Estate Grown McMinnville

Established in 1983, Yamhill Valley Vineyards is the second oldest vineyard in the McMinnville AVA. They produce 100% estate grown wines from our 150-acre estate located in the Willamette Valley. Thanks to the geographic location, our site is known for intense, enduring wines, grown with distinction. Our Pinot Noir Estate pulls from almost all the Pinot noir blocks in our vineyard, making it a true Yamhill Valley wine.

The Wine – In 2018, we used about 10% new French oak. In barrel, the wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation and is aged for about 8 months before blending.

Kevin’s Notes – The previous vintage was one of our best-selling Pinot Noir’s due to its rich complexity and vibrant fruit.  Cooper’s Price $22.99

Mix & Match 3 btls $20.69

Owen Roe, Red Blend Yakima Valley, WA

Established in 1999, our emphasis towards Northwest wines has evolved to showcase the unique terroir within the prestigious grape growing regions of the Yakima and Willamette Valleys. Co-founders David & Angelica O’Reilly have a passion and history dedicated to fine wines, and together they have crafted a diversified portfolio that has been recognized globally by critics, wine writers and consumers.

Taste Aromas from the Yakima Valley Red Wine capture beautiful notes of soft leather, baking spices and bright berry, followed by underlying hints of mint. Soft tannins dance on the tip of the tongue followed by a mouth-coating palate brimming with plum, black pepper and bright cherry.

Kevin’s Notes – this line of our best selling reds at Cooper, so why am I pouring it at our tasting?  It’s because it is sooooo…damn good we should be selling as much.  Amazing wine for money.  This wine drinks at twice its price!  Cooper’s Price $21.99  Mix & Match 3 btls $19.79
