Spanish Wine Mix & Match Special

Ego Bodegas, Goru Verde – Jumilla, Spain

EGO Goru Verde | Vivino

100% Monastrell same grape as Mourvdere

At the foot of the mountains of Tobarra in southwest Spain is where the Jumilla D.O.P. begins. The altitude is high, the region gets crazy hot but the nights stay cool due to the relative closeness of the Mediterranean. This is where Santos Ortiz, Ioana Paunescu and winemaker Luis Javier Perez started their wine project in 2011, Ego Bodegas. They have 35 hectares of old vine Monastrell (Mourvedre elsewhere) which is the dominate red grape variety of the region, and the wines are both delicious and inexpensive, a fantastic value.
Taste: Black cherry with purple violet hues. Clean, fragant with bouquet of spice box, violets and blueberry. Smooth texture, with savory red fruits, soft and round tannins, well-balanced acidity and a pure finish. Made with certified organic grapes.
