November 25th and 26th Tasting

Brutocao Hopland Ranches Mendocino Chardonnay 2014 – $15.99

Our 100% barrel fermented Chardonnay arises from a chorus of our classic Chardonnay blocks from our Bliss Ranch and a new planting of Chardonnay from our Feliz Ranch. With aromas of honey, pineapple, and mango, this wine has a lush entry of cantaloupe, honeydew and mango, leading to a ripe pineapple mid-palate and a long honey buttered toast finish.

The Feliz Ranch was purchased in 1994 by Len and Marty Brutocao who grow Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Dolcetto, Barbera, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir. Soils are Talmage gravelly sandy loam, Pinole gravelly loam, Yokayo sandy loam, Maxwell clay, Feliz loam, Cole loam, and Bearwallow-Hellman loams with effective rooting depths of 40 – 60+ inches.

Vera de Estenas Bobal Barrica 2013 – $12.99

Vera de Estenas is one of the oldest, family estates in Valencia. They farm 50ha and make a whole variety of traditional, oak-aged wines. This cuvée, produced from Bobal (An uncommon ancient grape variety of Spain), is made especially for wine import company “Jose Pastor Selections”. It shows the fresh, medium-bodied, spicy personality of high-elevation Bobal planted on clay-calcerous soils.

Established in 1919, Vera de Estenas is one of the oldest and most prestigious bodegas in the Levante. Known for producing uncompromisingly traditional wines, they make this one wine exclusively for José Pastor Selections from their 42 hectares of estate fruit.

The 50-80 year-old vines are traditionally farmed. De-stemmed, fermented in steel vat. Half of the wine is raised in cement tanks and half raised in older American oak barrels for 5 months. Unfiltered. Only 600 cases produced.

Boen Russian River Pinot Noir 2015 – $24.99

The Russian River Valley is recognized as one of the world’s most ideal regions for growing Pinot Noir. Just a few miles from the Pacific ocean, the Russian River Valley benefits from natural air conditioning in the form of cool and often foggy air that arrives in the evening, then retreats the following morning. The result is a longer growing season which allows Pinot Noir to develop full flavors while retaining its natural acidity.

TASTING NOTES: Color: Deep, dark ruby-red. Aromatics: Bright Bing cherry, dark chocolate, coconut, black licorice, a hint of toast, smoked meat, blueberry, barrel spice.

Palate: Cola, vanilla cream soda. Chocolate and black licorice carries through to the palate. Dried strawberry flavors with hints of cranberry and prune. Fresh, bright acidity. A dustiness or earthiness and very fine and persistent tannins.

Reckless Love Red – $19.99

It’s Back…. with a new vintage!!!

Made from the finest Sonoma Cab of the Alexander Valley region, and blended with vivacious Paso Robles Syrah, we’ve hit another home run with your sister…I mean with your taste buds. Think of your first spin the bottle experience.

Now, remember how the fireworks went off? Opening a bottle of this 2013 Sonoma Reckless Love wine is gonna bring that moment back (I love you Olivia!)… Let the feeling of soft, aromatic grapes sucker punch you, followed up by a finish Ron Burgundy would describe as ”being lulled to sleep by the laughter of puppies”. Yeah, we don’t even know what that means, but we do know that you’ll be asking for more when the bottle hits empty. So go ahead and make sure you grab that second bottle for backup. You’ll be glad you did.

Taste: A velvety front palate that seamlessly transitions into the soft tannins that only a true California Cabernet can possess. Rich full-bodied dark raspberry with spice from the syrah.
